MyGP App Users Can Now Access AI-Powered Skin Scanner for Free
myGP® app users now have access to free Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered skin scanning technology. The new feature allows users to use their smartphone’s camera to scan their skin ailment and receive an accurate and informative analysis.
The AI technology used in this feature has the ability to identify potential issues related to a number of skin disorders, which can then be shared with a healthcare professional for further evaluation and diagnosis if necessary. This feature aims to provide users with a convenient and easy way to monitor their skin health and potentially detect any issues earlier on.
It’s powered by Autoderm® that provides AI-powered skin scanning technology to help individuals assess their skin health. The company uses advanced imaging technology and artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze skin conditions such as wrinkles, acne, pigmentation, and other issues.
The Autoderm® system captures high-resolution images of the skin’s surface and analyzes them using machine learning algorithms to identify any abnormalities or changes in the skin’s appearance. This allows individuals to detect potential skin conditions early on.
The Autoderm® system is designed to be user-friendly and non-invasive, making it accessible to a wide range of users. The technology can be used in various settings, including clinics and dermatology practices.
Benefits of myGP® – AI skin checker
By uploading a photo of a skin ailment, through the myGP® app, the user will receive the top 5 skin disease results ranked in order of probability, within seconds. Uploading a clear image of the skin ailment will enable the AI scanner to generate more precise results.
The results will empower patients to proactively seek answers from a trusted source and better understand their skin conditions.
“The service helped me to understand my likely skin diagnosis which meant I was already well informed when I rang my doctor to request medication. It made the process far more reassuring for me, and much quicker when getting medication from my doctor”
Mrs. A Sharma – MyGP app user
This process reduces unnecessary appointment burden and waiting time attached to receiving a specialist referral.
“This new feature offers helpful information to improve understanding of 68 of the most common skin ailments, and importantly, to seek medical advice when they feel necessary. Often patients can worry unnecessarily without this.”
Tobias Alpsten – iPLATO’s Founder & CEO
“The AI model can screen for inflammatory diseases, benign tumours, skin cancers, and visual sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) anonymously. It’s like a search engine for your skin ailments; instead of entering text about your skin ailment and then looking at photos, you upload a photo of your skin ailment and get a text back to make informed decisions on your skin concern.
We estimate that about 50% of its users can be relieved of their skin ailments by going to the pharmacy and the other 50% getting a timely GP appointment for their skin concerns.”
Dr. Alexander Börve – MD, creator of Autoderm
It’s an amazing feature that uses the latest artificial intelligence to scan your skin and provide you with a quick and easy assessment of any potential skin issues. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, now is the perfect time to do so!
